Hello Community!

We are currently planning to buy and renovate an older building.
We would like to redesign the room layout.

One major concern I have right now is the wastewater planning.

The former kitchen will become a children’s room.
The former bathroom will become the kitchen.
An unused room will be converted into a bathroom and office.

It seems easier to install the kitchen in the former bathroom than to create a bathroom in a room with no existing connections.

Since all floor coverings will be replaced, I’m currently considering breaking up the screed for the wastewater pipes to create a connection between the “new” bathroom and the existing wastewater pipe in the former bathroom.
The distance is about 9.5 m (31 feet).
With a slope of 2%, a height difference of about 19 cm (7.5 inches) would be required.

Furthermore, I plan to use a so-called macerator pump system, which is usually used when a bathroom is installed, for example, in a basement. With this, the wastewater from the shower, toilet, sink, and washing machine should be able to be transported “directly,” right?

Is a 2% slope still required?
Is this plan feasible without major issues?
Could my planned approach perhaps be realized in another way?

Best regards

If I'm not mistaken, small lifting stations are only intended for wastewater without fecal matter and are therefore not suitable for a basement with a toilet. In that case, you will need a proper lifting system.

Hello Zaba12,

I think I didn’t express myself clearly.
I actually mean one with a toilet connection and a macerator pump.

I can’t find the device I’m looking for right now, but I will share the link later.
