Hello everyone

I am new to the forum and impressed by all the information available here. We are building a bungalow with a double garage. The house is from a prefab house manufacturer, and the garage will be built by ourselves. I have mostly finished the masonry work. My question now is what material I should use to plaster my reveals and lintels before the windows are installed.
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Alex

I would apply the exterior plaster after installing the windows, and interior plaster is usually not done in a garage at all – what material are you using for the walls?

The garage is built with Poroton blocks. My question does not concern the interior or exterior plastering, but only the reveals and lintels. I have often seen that the reveals were pre-plastered before installing the windows and doors. I assume this is to even out any irregularities.

Do you mean the smooth screed that is applied inside the house to create an even surface so the window sealing tape can be attached? In a garage, if it is not insulated, it probably doesn’t matter whether it is 100% airtight. Or am I mistaken?

Exactly what I mean. It doesn’t have to be 100% airtight since the garage is unheated. I just want it to be done properly. But if this is only about attaching the sealing tape, then I can skip the work, right?

Oh, I meant filler, not plaster. For a garage outside the thermal envelope, I wouldn’t be too picky even about the sealing tape. Cars don’t catch colds.
