Seppl001Hello dear house-building forum,
I am currently in the planning phase of a single-family house on a sloped site with a basement and underground garage. My concern is that, especially in winter, a lot of moisture from snow stuck on the cars will be brought into the garage. Is there anything sensible that can be planned in advance to prevent this? My architect is also unsure and suggested possibly a slight slope of the floor towards the garage door to allow water to drain away.
Do you have any advice on this?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards

Whether a slope is necessary probably depends on the type of floor. If the floor can absorb moisture, the small amount left on the ground will simply be soaked up. For a sealed floor, having a slope is certainly not a bad idea.
