hokkaidoHello everyone,
we are allowed to build a 1.5-story house with a maximum ridge height of 8.50 m (28 feet) and a maximum eave wall height of 4.50 m (15 feet). The living area should be around 150 sqm (1,615 sq ft). The roof will be a gable roof with a rather shallow pitch (preferably less than 35°), but an attic space (on one side) should still be possible. How high can the knee wall be? Is it allowed to be taller than 1.30 m (4 feet 3 inches)?
Thank you and best regards

You can easily calculate or sketch this yourself. For example: 17cm (7 inches) step to the ground floor + 260cm (102 inches) room height + 35cm (14 inches) ceiling = 312cm (123 inches). From this, you can calculate the knee wall height and still need to allow about 40cm (16 inches) for the roof structure. However, with a shallow roof pitch, there is hardly any usable space in the upper floor, so the knee wall should be at least 160cm (63 inches) high.
