Is something like this worth it? Normally, here the knee wall would start at floor level, but you could have it raised now for 4000 euros per 50 cm (20 inches). Would 50 cm (20 inches) or 1 m (40 inches) be enough? The developer said that with 50 cm (20 inches), they would slope the roof at 30 degrees. House type: townhouse/city villa, 9.5 m * 9 m (31 ft * 30 ft).

Do you have any experience with this? The money could also be invested in other things.

Why have a knee wall? That is usually only for the attic space in a town villa.

Yes, the question was whether you might want to convert that space eventually and install a staircase to it during construction. But the question of whether it really makes sense remains. So what are your experiences—does it make sense, or is it unnecessary?

Are you even allowed to build that high? That’s something you need to check first... eave height.

Alright, that needs to be clarified. I will check with the developer about it tomorrow. Thank you!

If you want to convert the attic, a gable roof makes more sense than the typical hip roof (pyramid roof) used in townhouses. This way, you can install real windows on the gable ends.

A knee wall with a pyramid roof? What would that even look like? I don’t think I would like that.
