I have a rolling cabinet that is about 15 years old, and the last key is bent so badly that the locksmith can’t make a copy. The service hotline told me there might still be a replacement key available, but I would need to provide the article number. Can anyone tell me what that is?
Thank you in advance

take a look at the back or bottom side of the container. Ideally, there should be a sticker with the details there.
Best regards

Maverick18546 Dec 2013 06:24It’s best to take the key with you to IKEA. The key has a number on it (1 or 8 or similar). If someone at IKEA is familiar with it, they can reorder the key. You won’t have much luck using the item number with older cabinets because they weren’t listed back then. Also, some models had these keys sold together with the lock. That’s why it’s best to go directly to IKEA and persistently ask customer service. They should normally be able to find it.

wilhelmpototzky14 Dec 2013 19:33Hello everyone,
thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately, there is no item number on the container, and contacting customer service was not successful either.
The issue seems to be that there is no spare part number available for the lock and the key.
However, I have now uploaded the picture; maybe someone can tell me the item number of the container.

If Maverick says the key can be ordered when an employee at customer service is knowledgeable, then that will be the case. If the item number doesn’t help, ask for a long-term customer service employee. Preferably someone from a building that has been standing for more than 10 years.
