Hello

I am new to the forum and have a question about a tradesman ^^. We want to route a power line and socket from an old electricity meter (see picture) to the adjoining room (laundry room). All work is in old basement rooms, easily accessible, with no aesthetic requirements. Everything can be installed surface-mounted.

I received a quote from an electrician: €535 including VAT. That seems way too much for just a socket... He charges about €180 for materials and 3 hours of labor for a technician plus apprentice.

We live in Munich. What do you think, what should something like this roughly cost? Thank you very much for your help

What exactly is the listed material? Perhaps a new sub-distribution board is needed?

I received a quote of 300 euros for installing three individually protected outlets and a 16 A three-phase socket in the basement with about 15 m (50 feet) of cable. This is for a new build with spare slots available in the distribution box.

It’s hard to see and say for sure now. But what willo suggests could be correct.

If I look at the circuit breakers on the meter, there are several 25 A units. So I assume that 25 A breakers are installed there and the cable coming out at the top then goes into your apartment, where a sub-distribution board is located. And you can’t connect a standard socket (washing machine?) to a 25 A breaker. So that means extra work and therefore higher costs.

Also, every tradesperson has their own rates.
I once had a meter removed. One charged over €200, and another did it for €60.

So ask someone else what they would charge for it.

Seems too expensive to me. I would also get comparison quotes. Additionally, I would have the material list reviewed.
