ᐅ Incorrect batter board layout – strip footing already poured

veroberoHello dear forum community,
we have the following issue:
Last week, the construction company started setting up the batter boards and began the excavation work. The strip foundation was dug, and the drainage pipes were installed and surrounded with gravel.
Yesterday, the concrete mixer arrived, and the excavated strips were filled with concrete. They then planned to start laying the concrete blocks. However, they noticed that the batter boards were off by 12 cm (5 inches) — the plans included 12 cm (5 inches) of insulation, but the measurements should have been without this insulation. Now they say it will still work out; they just need to reposition the steel reinforcement and move the concrete blocks 12 cm (5 inches) inward. The drainage pipes will also need some modification.
I have the following concerns: if they move 12 cm (5 inches) inward, the concrete will not fill all the way to the bottom but will be only about 10 cm (4 inches) thick because the trench widens upwards. Also, the drainage pipes won’t fit properly in some places.
The site foreman says this is not a problem because most of the concrete blocks will sit on the foundation, which goes all the way to the bottom.
Do you think this could cause any problems?
Thank you very much for your answers!
