ᐅ Concrete slab with defects?

Hello

I was pleased to inspect the progress of my build on Friday. The foundation slab has been completed. Aside from incorrect dimensions of the garage attached to the house, I noticed a few minor issues:

- The external perimeter insulation between the slab edge formwork and the concrete shows gaps of about 1 cm (0.4 inches) in several places, especially at the corners. What is the best way to address this?

- One section of the formwork has a slight curve and is not completely straight. The same question applies here as well.

- In areas where rainwater puddles have formed, you can scrape off a very thin layer of concrete with a fingernail. At these spots, the concrete appears to have fine cracks. Should I be concerned about this?

- On the concrete of the garage, especially along the edges inside the formwork, there are very small visible steel fibers. Again: is this something to worry about?

- Some stones in the edge formwork above show slight cracks. The same question applies here too.

Unfortunately, I was not present during the concreting process, so I do not know what preparations were made before the concrete was poured.

Thank you in advance for your help

From the photos, I can't quite understand the context. What purpose are these precast concrete blocks supposed to serve? Generally, it’s not that critical if formwork blocks crack. However, I wonder what these fine wires are supposed to do. They are not reinforcement. The concrete doesn’t appear to be properly compacted. Do you have an architect or building inspector on site?

The stones with holes are meant to represent the formwork blocks, followed by insulation, then concrete. In the other pictures, there is an additional layer of blocks visible in the area of the garage attached directly to the house, as the foundation slab was made higher than that of the house.

Is it common to omit external insulation on garages?

...OOPS correction, I meant that the stones probably represent the strip foundation, right?! There should be a concrete block under them? I now believe that these stones were placed directly on the concrete in the trenches. I don’t recall there being any additional stones.

A photo showing another perspective would be helpful for the forum (a view of the whole). For the construction, an expert would be useful, right? Who did the planning? What does the plan say? Who is carrying out the work? Who is approving the work?

My two cents: The work looks untidy. In my opinion, you can’t say if it’s done professionally based on this.

Attached is a photo showing the overall view.

The design was done by a freelance architect working for the company. The construction is carried out turnkey by a local building company. The site manager from the company is responsible for acceptance. Unfortunately, there is no independent expert on site.

Could there perhaps be another layer on top? Could this be just the leveling or blinding layer? In our case, the foundation slab was poured over the formwork blocks.
