Hello,
just a random post out of curiosity: We are very happy with our house. Everything is wonderful. But if I had to plan my house again without budget constraints, this is what I would build (south is on the left):

Of course, the whole thing would be fully basemented and with a really nice staircase with landings, naturally.
Okay, without budget limits you could of course build a huge mansion, but that’s not what I wanted. That would be way too big for me. That’s why this would be my dream home.
What would you build if money were no object? Which floor plan would you choose, what features, size, etc.?

If I were rich... *daydreams*
No, I probably wouldn’t do much differently than I am now, except I would build a basement and a double garage right away. With a basement, we wouldn’t need a utility room on the ground floor and would have almost 13 sqm (140 sq ft) more space available. That room would be perfect for a third child’s bedroom, which is currently on the upper floor. This would make all the rooms upstairs larger (I’d really like children’s rooms around 16–19 sqm (170–205 sq ft) – right now they are just under 13 sqm (140 sq ft)).
I can’t really imagine being so rich that I would want the house completely different.
Instead, I would probably look for a nice part-time job in the mornings to have the entire afternoon free for my son. :p Also, my husband wouldn’t need to work so much, and we would have plenty of time for ourselves.
Ah, that would be lovely, yes *nods enthusiastically*

So,
if I win a million in the lottery on Saturday, I’ll build a bungalow for my in-laws.
Requirements are
- with a basement
- kitchen facing the street
- small dining nook in the kitchen
- pantry would be nice
- covered terrace
The north should be at the bottom.
I just had some fun converting this from a prefabricated house.
Pretty nice, right?
