Compared to most others here, my issue is probably minor. I hope it’s still okay that I bother you with it. 😉

During the construction of our new passive row house, the roof windows (by Roto) were recently installed. I noticed that on Wednesday, the neighbors had windows in place, but we didn’t yet. The next day, it was the other way around. Apparently, the windows were first installed at the neighbor’s house (where they weren’t supposed to be, as the attic is not planned to be converted initially) and then at our place (where they belonged).

My question is: Is this acceptable, or would the windows be technically considered “used” because they were installed elsewhere for a day? Could the windows or the flashing have been damaged by this, or is it most likely completely harmless?

This could probably lead to a lengthy and unresolved debate in court...

As long as the double casement window shows no signs of installation in places where it shouldn’t be, I would assume it should not be a problem; the warranty is also two years in this case. People make mistakes, even roofers 😉

Kind regards

I have only limited interest in a legal dispute. I’m approaching this quite pragmatically and mainly want to know if we should expect any disadvantages – and that doesn’t seem to be the case. Thanks for your opinion! 🙂
