Hello everyone,

I recently purchased the IKEA Platsa system and want to securely fix the cabinets to my laminate flooring. My question is: How do I properly attach IKEA PLATSA to laminate floors so that the furniture stands firmly while avoiding damage to the floor? I am also interested in whether there are specific foot pads or installation methods you would recommend to prevent scratches and pressure marks. Ideally, the solution should be removable without leaving any residue in case I want to rearrange the furniture later.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I would advise against using tape on laminate flooring. It can damage the surface and often leaves unsightly residue. It’s better to ensure stability with wall anchors instead.

Another option is to equip the base area with transparent silicone furniture pads. They provide good grip, protect the floor, and are washable. Compared to felt pads, they are more durable with movement.

Sounds interesting. Can someone give me a rough price range for such pads? Are they available directly at IKEA, or would it be better to check at a hardware store?

Silicone pads usually cost between 5 and 15 euros per pack, depending on size and quantity. IKEA typically offers felt pads, while specialized hardware stores have a wider selection of transparent pads.

My tip: equip the cabinet with felt pads and also use anti-slip adhesive pads. This way, the Platsa system stays securely in place and the floor remains protected. If you move, you can usually remove the pads without leaving any residue. And honestly, a little felt under the feet works wonders against those annoying scratches.

Thanks for the helpful answers! I will first try using felt pads and the included wall mounting hardware. If it still slips, I will add the silicone pads. Feedback is always welcome if anyone has additional practical tips.
