Hello everyone,
I’m looking for ideas on how to better organize my Ikea Metod kitchen setup. Specifically, I want to figure out how to arrange and structure the existing drawers, pull-outs, and compartments to make usage more convenient and improve visibility when cooking and storing items. At the moment, I feel there is still a lot of potential in the internal layout, especially regarding drawers for cutlery, pantry items, and cooking utensils. Does anyone have experience with smart, systematic planning of Metod cabinets—from simple use of dividers to specialized boxes or organizational tools? I’m looking forward to your ideas and tried-and-tested tips!

Use the IKEA Metod inserts designed specifically for drawers to keep things organized. Store heavy pots and pans near the bottom, and lighter utensils in the upper compartments. Rotating inserts or shelves on the inside of doors are suitable for spices. This way, you make efficient use of the space.
Hey, I found it best not to focus solely on functionality but to add a bit of fun to the organization design as well. 😄
For example, I use colorful storage boxes that boost the mood and help me quickly distinguish between different categories. I also installed magnetic knife strips on the kitchen wall – it really saves a lot of space!
A few tips: get clearly labeled containers for each area and experiment with the arrangement until it feels just right in the kitchen. This way, the kitchen becomes not only organized but also lively 🙂
