We need a new front door for our house and have requested quotes for the Hörmann ThermoSafe and the Inotherm Exklusiv AT95. Both come with the same features: fingerprint scanner, 5-point locking system, RC-3 security rating, door closer, and a doorbell integrated into the glass side panel. The prices for both offers are the same.

Do you have any experience with one or both manufacturers? Which of the two doors would you recommend? Are there any other differences between the two doors?

We have two Inotherm AGE 1090 with AT95 Exclusiv Plus profile and motorized locks, and I have nothing negative to say about them—they are great (so far). Back then (2022), Inotherm was significantly cheaper than Hörmann, so I am surprised that they are now similarly priced.

5-point locking system, RC-3, door closer,

We have the Hörmann Thermosafe, without any electrical features.
I wouldn’t recommend the door closer because once the door shuts, it’s locked and can only be opened by breaking in, which is not advisable with RC-3.
If you’re not careful even once, you could lock yourself out.
When we’re in the garden, we leave the key inside.

One moment of carelessness and you’re locked out.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Since this is a multi-family building with four rental units, we do need the door closer. Otherwise, we would avoid it as well.
