Hello everyone,
I have a question for you. My garage is built with calcium silicate blocks, and it has a simple truss roof structure. The garage is divided into roughly one-third workshop and two-thirds parking space for vehicles. Both areas are separated by a partition wall, but there is a door between them.
Currently, everything is open, and I want to start by insulating the workshop area and installing drywall panels underneath.
Now, my construction manager told me I absolutely have to use F30 fire-rated boards to ensure the insurance will cover damages in case of an incident. Is that correct?
I was planning to use standard moisture-resistant drywall.
By the way, the garage is detached, but a covered walkway between the house and the garage will be built soon.
