Good morning,
I just received a steep price increase from my energy provider enercity, raising the cost to 15 cents per kWh starting in August. That’s really tough, and I think prices will rise even further.
It’s a strange feeling to be thrown back so quickly into an energy supply situation where you have to figure out how to keep the house warm. It seems to me that the government has given up on the goal of enabling everyone to adequately cover at least their basic needs.
Goodbye central supply structures; now the winner is whoever has solar panels and a heat pump in their new build, while the others are left out.
Welcome back, coal heating 😕
Frustrated regards,

Calling nuclear power safe is quite amusingHello SumsumBieneIs there an argument to back that up?

And finally:
Climate change! I still clearly remember the scare of “forest dieback.” For about 30 years after those warnings, there were no forests left.
Then came the ozone hole, which was supposed to kill us all. Almost a complete roundup: You’ve already covered climate change, gay soldiers, (of course!) “the” Greens, and overpopulation... – but you forgot Corona and the (in)effectiveness of vaccinations and Soros!
(By the way, I strongly recommend learning about the prevention paradox. Even if you are older, there is still a lot to learn!)

gay soldiers,Hello HausiKlausiSince I served several years for Germany in Iraq, I am somewhat familiar with this field.
Gay soldiers, including in the officer ranks, have always existed. Hermann Göring was reportedly known to have such preferences.
Whether someone prefers women, men, or chickens makes no difference to me in combat. Ideally, they should keep it private.
Of course, I would not want a soldier who feels comfortable wearing yellow taffeta dresses in private to be part of my security detail.

Deliverer14 Jul 2022 23:17@Steven, you seem really bitter. I'm sorry to hear that.
Here’s the thing: you are right about some points, but wrong about others. Unfortunately, you are drawing the wrong conclusions from this mix.
It’s difficult for me to address the jumble of issues specifically. If you have questions related to the topic of the thread, feel free to ask as long as no moderator closes it.

Reinhard84.214 Jul 2022 23:23Thanks for the feedback and helpful tips. For example, I only heat the hot water once in the morning and use it throughout the day. I will take some time to get familiar with the energy balancing.
The fact is, it simply gets very expensive. The old gas heating system is not a condensing boiler. Installing photovoltaic panels on the roof doesn’t make sense at the moment, as the roof can’t support them and will need to be re-covered in the medium term—so a heat pump also doesn’t make sense.
This winter, I am significantly upgrading the fireplaces and hope to only need to use the gas heating for hot water.

Sounds like an older building with backlog renovation issues.
Check where there are strong drafts. It was the same for me in my old apartment. Your head feels hot, your feet are cold, and you feel chilly despite 25°C (77°F). It might help to lower the temperature slightly. A 1-degree difference can have a noticeable effect on costs.
It will probably get even more expensive in the coming months.
