Good morning,
I just received a steep price increase from my energy provider enercity, raising the cost to 15 cents per kWh starting in August. That’s really tough, and I think prices will rise even further.
It’s a strange feeling to be thrown back so quickly into an energy supply situation where you have to figure out how to keep the house warm. It seems to me that the government has given up on the goal of enabling everyone to adequately cover at least their basic needs.
Goodbye central supply structures; now the winner is whoever has solar panels and a heat pump in their new build, while the others are left out.
Welcome back, coal heating 😕
Frustrated regards,

Oh, okay, I just looked into the GPS issue. I came across a forum where a certain "Durran" posted something on September 28th.
Since many tractors in agriculture use GPS steering systems, some machines with slightly older receivers stopped working. These are the receivers that operate with American and European satellites.
There were numerous error messages, and some devices had to be replaced.
The entire forum is rather—well—conspiracy theory prone (anti-vaccine, etc.). It also spreads exactly the same information that some people here (or the same person) keep sharing.

However, it mainly discusses that the Russian GLONASS system was shut down and that GPS receivers need to compensate for that. The problem seems to be not with the American GPS itself, but rather GPS as a general term for satellite-based positioning.
So, the "Russian GPS" was shut down, which could cause problems. It’s very interesting how facts are deliberately twisted here for propaganda purposes.
That said, I haven’t found any evidence that this actually happened. Neither GLONASS nor GPS was really affected. What apparently does happen more often is thieves stealing the GPS devices from the machines.

Buschreiter29 Sep 2022 12:39Well then… I’m curious to see what the coalition government announces today at 2 p.m. The meeting of the state and federal leaders yesterday was quite relaxed, producing platitudes on paper and calling on the federal government for “relief measures” without presenting any concrete ideas themselves.

There is already an article in Der Spiegel listing all the usual problems why this won’t work—as is often the case in Germany.
What really annoyed me was this statement:
"After all, you would need to know how many people live in each of the roughly 20 million affected households."
You have to be kidding. We have the most bureaucratic registration system in the country and still can’t manage that?! So what’s the point of registration offices then...
I’m getting worked up again...

I’d rather be a conspiracy theorist…. I’ve already run out of (reasonable) conspiracy theories… almost all have come true, the only thing really missing now is the burden equalization.
