ᐅ Garage with cast-in-place concrete and concrete slab foundation

Hello everyone,

This is about a new build in Bavaria. The garage includes a technical room (total area 40m² (430 sq ft)). Therefore, a prefabricated garage is not an option. The structural engineer calculated that the garage should be built with cast-in-place concrete. The garage is founded on a 25 cm (10 inch) thick slab with frost protection footings.

What do you think about this in terms of cost and practicality? Isn’t this overdimensioned? Most neighbors have garages with concrete slabs and brick or limestone walls.
