ᐅ Garage Roof: Concrete or Wood – Experiences

Hello,
I’m currently deciding whether the garage (flat roof) should have a concrete ceiling or a wooden ceiling. The architect said both options are fine and common, and it mostly comes down to personal preference.

Since we will be building the walls ourselves, a wooden ceiling would give us more flexibility. With concrete, we would depend on the delivery date for the ground floor concrete slabs and might have to work harder to finish the ground floor on time.

Where are the main differences? Durability, structural stability, installation process, or other factors?

Which option is more cost-effective? We were quoted 1550 euros for the concrete ceiling panels. What might a wooden ceiling cost?

I chose a wooden roof because with my old concrete roof (really old), I always had problems with leaks. In my opinion, the wooden roof is also much more attractive...

I thought the beams are usually not visible from the outside?
There should be wooden battens, some kind of boarding, and a layer of roofing felt or something similar on top...
From the outside, I was told you can’t really see the difference.

It’s just the load-bearing base, either concrete slabs or wooden beams..
