Hello everyone,
I am currently working on constructing a concrete slab foundation for our garden shed with a side canopy. I have encountered a problem with the outer edges (lawn) of the shed’s excavation pit, where there is a slope of 2% (9cm (3.5 inches) over 4.5m (15 feet)). I hope you can give me some advice on how to best handle the foundation height-wise.
I tried to make the sketch as clear as possible. If I install the gravel and concrete slabs at the lowest point of my excavation (with an overhang of about 2-3 cm (1 inch) above the lawn), the concrete slabs on the opposite side (right) will be about 9cm (3.5 inches) below the lawn edge (shed door below lawn level).
I have considered extending the paving with the 2% slope as well, but I am worried that the shed might look “tilted” (shed dimensions 3.0m x 3.0m (10 feet x 10 feet) plus side canopy 1.5m x 3.0m (5 feet x 10 feet)).
I hope I was able to explain my concern/problem somewhat clearly 😉
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
JoergJ
