If everything is done correctly, there is none. If you, as the person responsible for organizing the foundation slab work, effectively subcontract the product from the previous supplier, you no longer stand clearly on the client side towards the house supplier, but find yourself in a sandwich position. You’ll be really anxious until the grounding conductor inspection report is safely stored ;-)
As a house supplier, I also wouldn’t want to occasionally replace my reliably performing foundation slab installer with someone preferred by the builder just because of a price difference.
Conclusion: if you like the thrill and you are the one responsible for the removal of the slab, then procure this part separately – but if your house supplier is the one pushing for this removal, then send them packing.
