Hello everyone,
We are planning to install a fixed window unit (PVC with triple glazing; not openable) in our living area, approximately W200cm (79 inches) x H220cm (87 inches).
Our site manager says that such a fixed window is too heavy and can only be installed using a crane. Can anyone confirm if this is actually the case?
I have read that a window of this size weighs around 130kg (287 lbs), which would indeed make installation more challenging. Has anyone had experience with this?
For background: The location offers a beautiful view that we do not want to interrupt with a mullion, which is why we decided on a fixed window unit.
I look forward to your feedback.
Thank you very much.

I installed a window like this, approximately 3m x 2.10m (10ft x 7ft) triple-glazed with laminated safety glass (VSG). It went quite well on the ground floor without major height differences, using round wooden rods to roll it into place. However, it was quite heavy.
