Hello everyone,

We are getting a wood stove with glass panels on three sides to serve as a room divider between the living room and dining room. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough information about the individual manufacturers to properly evaluate the offers.

Which fireplace inserts do you have? Leda, Brunner, Schmid, Hark? And what experiences have you had with them?

Is it installed inside a sauna? If not, I would reconsider the all-around glazing.

In any case, choose the model with the lowest absolute heat output.

Brunner is top-quality, premium class.
Schmid is a good mid-range option. It is mentioned here.
I cannot comment on Leda and Hark.

Do you think it heats the room that way? The affected room is almost 65m² (700 sq ft). Friends of ours have a similar stove and basically no issues with the temperature.

That would be my favorite as well since it’s local and a great product. However, the price spoils it a bit. That’s why I’m asking here for alternatives.

The heating capacity is not the decisive factor. Much more important is whether the stove can store the heat or releases it immediately. A 10 kW (kilowatt) stove can be perfectly fine, while a 4 kW (kilowatt) stove without heat storage capability can turn your house into a sauna.

With three sides made of glass, heating capacity would be very important to me. Nevertheless, the issue of thermal mass also plays a role.
