kadi_713828 Dec 2010 12:59Hello, a quick question about range hoods, specifically the NUTID model!
The kitchen is installed, but the hood hasn’t been mounted yet (out of laziness).
Until now, I thought I absolutely had to drill a hole in the wall to use the hood, but I just noticed in the overview of all hoods that almost every one says: "compatible carbon filter for recirculation: XY price."
So basically, that means I can buy the matching carbon filter for any hood and then use it as a recirculating system without venting outside or drilling a hole in the wall.
Am I understanding this correctly?
Thanks for your answers!

küchenhexe30 Dec 2010 19:17Hello,
Almost all Ikea range hoods can be used either as an exhaust vent or as a recirculating filter system. If you want to use it as an exhaust, you will need a flexible duct hose. If you want to use it as a filter, well, then you need the filters 😀. The filters should be replaced approximately every 9–12 months, depending on usage. You can tell when to replace the filters by how well the hood is ventilating and by the air quality.
When you purchased it, my colleague should have informed you that you need to choose one of the two options 😕

kadi_71386 Jan 2011 12:32Hello kitchenspecialist!
As far as I can tell, I have both. I purchased a complete kitchen online through a virtual kitchen planning service, where we spoke with a representative on the phone and then had to log in to discuss the kitchen. In the end, all the parts were basically delivered to our home via Hermes.
So, I definitely have the flexible duct, and according to the order list, I also have the filter. However, I think we will return the duct and operate the hood in recirculation mode. I really don’t want to make another hole in the wall!
