Good afternoon everyone,

we have been offered the TERRA SWM 6-17 HGL from IDM. So far, I haven’t been able to find much information about the company IDM. Does anyone have experience with the heat pumps from IDM? From what I have heard and read, the Austrian company IDM has a pretty solid reputation.

Best regards

is one of the top heat pump manufacturers!
You can confidently buy any system from Austria.
They know what they are doing.

Thank you for your assessment. Do you have any personal experience with heat pumps?

Not personal, only through acquaintances.
But I know their quality standards and processes. Nothing is left to chance.
You can confidently go ahead with them.
In general, it can be said that the heat pump from Austria is certainly positioned among the top in the market.
They are also behind many German brands!

We have an IDM, but with an air-to-water heat pump. So far, I have no complaints. They are not the cheapest, but I have had a good impression of the quality so far.
Whether you want the often offered HGL + buffer tank combination is another question, but with my heating engineer, it was possible to switch to a version with a direct heating circuit.

Quick side question... 6-17?? Are you building a multi-family house?

No, not a multi-family house 😉. But in terms of volume, we're at just under 1,300 m³ (46,000 ft³). Considering the heating load calculated by our building physicist, the pump is suitable.
