Hello everyone,
Interestingly, the search function didn’t show any thread addressing the topic of tipping.
We are currently wondering how tipping is handled in construction...
What is usually given? Who receives what?
Or do people rather give a case of beer and a round of coffee and snacks instead?
How have you dealt with this, or what experiences have you had on this topic?

Would you perhaps rather offer a crate of beer and a round of CPM instead? CPM? Well, I would generally steer clear of Cuban Premium Marijuana.

CPM? Well, I would generally avoid Cuban Premium Marijuana. This is not for you but for the construction workers! However, I doubt the schedule will be kept on track then.In our case, for longer-lasting tasks like the shell construction, there were cold drinks and sandwiches provided every day, but we didn’t give any extra financial compensation.
I don’t think drinking beer on the construction site during the day is a good idea. Most people started early and left early. My water bottles for everyone were barely touched.
But what is CPM???
From time to time, I brought bread rolls or cake. Some of the builders ate them, others didn’t.
I only gave cash to the men from the moving company, who were carrying stuff in 35°C (95°F) shade two weeks ago. To their relief, it wasn’t a bungalow but an end-of-terrace house with a ground floor raised above street level and two upper floors. Despite the heat, they really kept going well.

However, when the question of what drinks could be provided was answered with "RedBull," the matter was quickly settled with these tradespeople.
