Hello everyone,

Interestingly, the search function didn’t show any thread addressing the topic of tipping.

We are currently wondering how tipping is handled in construction...

What is usually given? Who receives what?
Or do people rather give a case of beer and a round of coffee and snacks instead?

How have you dealt with this, or what experiences have you had on this topic?

An idiot if he "leads" his team by demotivating them. Management by inability to count to three :-(

I guess his team never found out. We didn’t live on the construction site, and it was still very early on. I’m pretty sure I told the foreman or site manager, or whatever his title was. Young Polish family men came to work, and they had to work really hard. I couldn’t speak their language, but a neighbor spoke Polish. I don’t want to think about how little they were probably paid, even though we paid a fair market price.

In any case, some recognition or a small relief would have been appropriate.

Best regards

At the end, we always gave the guys who did good and clean work a twenty-dollar tip.
