KaspatooHello,
I want to install an audio door intercom system (additional features may be prepared but are generally not desired). I have tried to figure out which components I need from GIRA or Siedle.
Here is what I think I know:
Siedle
Classic
- 1+n technology or 6+n technology (€430)
- What is the difference? 1 conductor vs. 6 conductors, but what is the benefit? For video?
DoorCom
- Adapter for A/B port of the FritzBox
- 1+n (€360)
- No 6+n available? Should I use IP instead?
Power supply unit NG 602-01
- Power supply (€244)
- What kind of flush-mounted boxes for the door station?
- DoorCom and power supply can be installed either surface-mounted or flush-mounted inside a suitably large box (e.g., near the chime)
Installation
- Connect power supply to 230V
- Connect door station + DoorCom to the power supply for power
- Connect door station to DoorCom via 2-wire cable
- Connect DoorCom to the A/B port of the FritzBox via 2-wire cable
GIRA
Audio door station
- Stainless steel (€494)
- Aluminum door station (€368)
Audio control unit (€111)
- Power supply
TKS-TK-Gateway (€150)
- Connection to A/B port of the FritzBox
- Two flush-mounted boxes (60mm (2.4 inches)) for the door station if not surface-mounted
- Control unit and gateway can be installed either surface-mounted or flush-mounted inside a suitably large box (e.g., near the chime)
Installation
- Connect the control unit to 230V
- Connect door station + DoorCom to the control unit for power
- Connect door station to the control unit via 2-wire cable (or directly to the gateway?)
- Connect control unit to gateway via 2-wire cable
- Connect gateway to the A/B port of the FritzBox via 2-wire cable
Primarily, my question concerns the components so that I do not forget anything when ordering.
Regarding installation, I have not fully understood the manufacturers’ instructions so far, but I will try to research more myself tomorrow. So installation is secondary here, although any tips are also welcome.
