A friendly hello to everyone.
We are about to purchase a plot of land and intend to build an angled bungalow on it in the near future.
We already have a floor plan that we want to build upon. As of now, we plan to position the living and dining areas to face northeast or northwest due to local conditions and personal preferences, as well as the beautiful park-like view.
My concern is that the lighting, meaning natural daylight, might not be sufficient. Due to the furniture layout, larger window surfaces are not an option.
I came across the topic of daylight spots online, which might help address this issue.
Has anyone had experience with these or faced a similar problem?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards from Lusatia.

Do you want your windows to be taller because the ceiling is higher?
Then the window width will look even narrower...
The right windows belong to a house – yours don’t fit the design. There is really no point in debating that 😉
Honestly, I don’t understand the sentence "we like the current windows best."
Best compared to what? Have you seen others?
How can you like holes?
If you say that you liked the sense of space in that exact show home, I understand. But then you wouldn’t be asking this question here, because you actually appreciate that dark cave-like effect.

To neutralize the orientation, larger windows are definitely necessary, and daylight spotlights cannot compensate for this.
You shouldn’t just treat the symptoms... the root cause must be addressed. :p
@Yvonne – we saw this window size in a show home, but the difference was that for a room of about 50m² (540 sq ft), 6 or 7 of these windows were installed. I find tall, vertically oriented windows more attractive than windows of the same height and width. But more important is the light, and the current ones don’t provide enough.
@Nofret – the furniture would fit, we already checked that – but thanks anyway for the tip about using templates.
Thanks to both of you for the insight. 😉
