Dear forum members,

Because of my problem with the new windows, I thought I could reach out to you here.
RAL 7016 on the outside, white on the inside, RAL 7016 aluminum cassette roller shutters, with the rail screwed directly onto the windows.

As soon as the sun comes out, the windows on the south side start to creak, and the same happens in the evening when it gets cold.
The internet is full of people with the same problem; I find posts, some years old, but no solution.
Does anyone here know anything about this issue? It’s truly annoying.

I would appreciate any suggestions for solutions, or reports from those who had the same issue and found a way to fix it.

Hello, normal warm and cold. The material expands and contracts. My wood/aluminum balcony door has also warped now, and I had to have it adjusted.

Hello HelpHelp

Let me put it this way. In all my previous rental apartments, I never had this problem, always plastic windows, but never RAL7016.

Of course, dark colors heat up faster, but this cracking sound simply can’t be right.

And why the window installer, who acts uninformed, didn’t mention anything before the sale even though the price difference to white windows was minimal, is beyond my knowledge. But I’ll get back to that.
As I said, maybe there are solutions after all.

Because they couldn’t have known. Every house is different. There are thousands of houses where RAL7016 works perfectly fine.

An external shading solution could help. For example, venetian blinds.

Because you would have ignored his concerns and instead ordered the standard 7016 elsewhere, where there were no concerns.

But white windows also expand and crack.
