Hello everyone,

we want to renovate our terrace and have ceramic tiles installed.

The terrace foundation consists of a frost-resistant concrete slab, 80 cm (31.5 inches) thick. The ceramic tiles will be laid on single-component mortar and then grouted.

Question 1:
The ceramic tiles are 2 cm (0.8 inches) thick. Approximately how thick will the layer of single-component mortar likely be?

Question 2:
What would be the typical cost per square meter (including labor and materials, but excluding the cost of the ceramic tiles themselves) for such installation work by a landscaping contractor?

Regards,

No one will be able to tell you that.
Garden landscapers, like the construction industry in general, are currently doing very well in many regions.
That means if you inquire today, you might only get a garden landscaper booked for next year without a specific date.

I think this is more of a small job for a garden landscaper, more like a Saturday task for one of the employees... However, you won’t receive anything in writing for that.

From a warranty perspective, this is not really interesting for the garden landscaper anyway...

Not bad either. Giving an answer to a question that wasn’t even asked...

Why do people ask about prices online?

How is anyone supposed to estimate the local effort involved?

For example, garden landscapers in our area now charge almost €35 per hour (about $37), and master craftsman hours are €38–40 (about $40–43).

So what now?

Contact a few garden landscapers locally and first see if you can even find someone willing to take the job.

Well, why else? Think carefully and you’ll probably figure it out.

Why do some people act like you do on the internet, instead of responding factually or not at all? Not getting enough attention in real life?

@Volkmann: always ready with silly excuses?

And nobody will help you with the volume anyway. Just ask a landscape gardener and that’s it. And how are we supposed to know how big the job is? Because the price per square meter clearly depends on the size of the area. And of course, on what has already been done, etc...

Why don’t you go look at some stones and ask right away how high the cost would be…
