Hello,

Is there a tiler here who can roughly estimate the cost of installing tiles on a U-shaped staircase (double winding without an intermediate landing) using the thick-bed method?
I am asking about the labor cost only. Would the labor cost be higher if a stair nosing profile is installed at the front edge, and if so, by how much?

It will cost you around 1000 euros without materials...

Hello

I don't want to unsettle you, but have you considered a U-shaped staircase with tiles?
When we built our first house, we were advised against tiling a U-shaped staircase because the grout lines tend to create a visually busy effect on this type of staircase.

Take a close look at U-shaped staircases with tile coverings before you decide, so you don't regret it later.

Best regards

Maybe I’m an exception, but I find the pattern quite interesting right now. And since the tiles are 30 x 60 cm (12 x 24 inches), the grout lines aren’t too prominent either...

Ok, I have absolutely nothing against joints, but on your staircase, none of them are aligned.

How do you come to that conclusion???
