Hello everyone,

Some time ago, our general contractor informed us that some windows need to be changed. Today we received the updated plans with the changes, and I’m not happy with them (it’s not what I had expected).
Now we are considering redesigning and adding an extra roof window. Unfortunately, tomorrow is a public holiday, so I can’t ask the contractor about the cost of roof windows.

Could someone please give me an idea of the costs we should expect for a roof window (small standard size with an electric blind)?

Thank you in advance.

The list prices are available on the Velux website.

A standard roof window costs about 700€ (approx. $740), with an electric roller shutter it is double that. Installation not included.
Estimated total around 2,000€ (approx. $2,100).
Additional costs apply for an electrician and controls.

There are also retrofit blinds without electric motors. They cost around 200-300€ and provide the same level of darkness.
You can also talk to an electrician and order the electric blind through them afterwards. We were quoted around 2000€ by the developer. We then only purchased the window, and the blind was installed later. Now we are at just over 1000€ for that.

No one here can give you a definite price. For a larger and a smaller Velux window with solar blinds, we paid about 2000€ (around $2200) including installation by the roofer. However, the price also depends on the window configuration and other factors.
