Hello everyone,

I hope the topic description fits my question. Our house is now turnkey ready. The electrician rolled up all the network cables and hung them under the circuit breaker panel in the utility room.

For cost reasons, I would like to connect the cables to the patch panel myself.

I have 6 network outlets in the house. So I need a patch panel with at least 6 ports. A network switch and a Fritz!Box are already available.

Which patch panel would you recommend?
What else do I need to connect to the patch panel?

The "small thin gray" cable is the telephone connection, right? Which connector do I need for that?

I hope you can give me a bit of guidance.

Actually, it doesn’t really matter which one you have, as they all have similar technical specifications when it comes to output power. I have a 7330.

We have the 7390 in the utility room, which is not ideal either. I will probably relocate it. Alternatively, there are not only Wi-Fi but also DECT repeaters available. Unfortunately, not both combined in one device.

Some people place the router INSIDE the server cabinet. In principle, setting it ON TOP of the wall-mounted cabinet should be better for the signal(s), right?

I can already tell: trying it out beats just studying it.

You can also install stronger antennas if you want; that definitely makes a difference.

What is unfortunately very difficult with the top models of the Fritzbox...

Exactly, and it’s not useful for DECT anyway.
