Hello everyone,

what do the colors in the floor plan/section mean: green/red? This is a solid masonry semi-detached house built in 1993.

See the pictures (the topic of the wooden balcony led us to this question).

Thank you
Fabian

Probably:
Green walls = structurally necessary.

Or in timber frame construction:
Green = wood
Red = masonry or drywall

Show everything, not just a part – it’s like a puzzle…

In practice, I haven’t observed any consistent color-coding standards, and certainly not any coding based on structural relevance. What I often see is a distinction between masonry (often red), (reinforced) concrete (often light green), and lightweight construction (occasionally blue).

I find that even less likely here.

In our plans, dashed lines indicate concrete, hatching represents sand-lime bricks, and load-bearing walls are shown in red.

By the way, you can find all of this in the legend on the plan :p

In our plans, dashed lines represent concrete, hatched areas are calcium silicate blocks, and load-bearing walls are marked in red.

So, does that mean calcium silicate blocks are load-bearing when hatched and red?

Ah yes, legends—they seem to have fallen out of fashion, just like signaling before turning.
