Does anyone have experience with click vinyl or luxury vinyl flooring like Vinylan?

According to the description, this vinyl seems to combine the advantages of various floor coverings:
- comfortable to walk on due to the cork underlayer
- durable
- easy to install like laminate
- low maintenance

It’s not exactly cheap, though.
However, you can get vinyl flooring in tropical wood tones without contributing to deforestation.

Does anyone have experience with click vinyl and can possibly share any drawbacks?

Our neighbor had click vinyl flooring installed throughout her house by a specialist retailer, and there are no unpleasant odors. It looks great, and she is very satisfied. We are also planning to install vinyl and have been researching repeatedly for months. We have also taken advice from various specialist retailers and have come to the following conclusion:

On the market, there is not only vinyl made in EU countries, with and without plasticizers (although most floors no longer contain them), but also vinyl from China. I probably don’t need to say more about that...

Where did you buy yours?

Today, we visited our favorite leisure center, the home improvement store, and the cheapest vinyl there was nearly 25 € per m² (about 2.30 ft²), produced in China. At the specialist retailer, the vinyl made in Germany with Blue Angel certification costs a bit more, but it is definitely worth it. Therefore, we have decided to save money elsewhere.

I would return it!

Mine was manufactured in Austria and purchased at OBI

Hmm.. it might be that you received a faulty batch... just speculating.

I would return it, as I already mentioned.

Or is it an Austrian company that has it produced in China?
Or is it just packaged in Austria...?

We recently visited the local dealer for a consultation.

He explained that even the vinyl coverings produced in Belgium, Austria, and Germany are all manufactured in China. Without exception! The “manufacturer” from B, A, or elsewhere might then add something (I forgot exactly what) and can already label it as “made in”...

Good evening.

We are currently looking for the "right" flooring.

We will be installing it ourselves, in the living/dining area with access to the open kitchen (all open plan)!

Since the floor should be warm underfoot, only cork or vinyl flooring with a wood parquet look are options. In the bedrooms, we will definitely install cork click parquet.

So we are wondering whether to use cork click parquet in the rest of the house as well, meaning the living/dining area and open kitchen, or if we should go with click vinyl there.

By the way, there is a wood-burning stove in the living room. Could heat cause any problems with cork or vinyl?

How would you decide? And why?

There is no underfloor heating!

Best regards
