Does anyone have experience with click vinyl or luxury vinyl flooring like Vinylan?
According to the description, this vinyl seems to combine the advantages of various floor coverings:
- comfortable to walk on due to the cork underlayer
- durable
- easy to install like laminate
- low maintenance
It’s not exactly cheap, though.
However, you can get vinyl flooring in tropical wood tones without contributing to deforestation.
Does anyone have experience with click vinyl and can possibly share any drawbacks?

We also looked at various vinyl floors. It’s surprising how well tiles are even imitated while still providing the quietness and warmth of wood. We will also be using a lot of vinyl. However, ours will be glued down, so individual vinyl tiles can be removed and re-glued later if needed. The click system is really easy—just a short introduction and then you can get started!
Regarding environmental compatibility and plasticizers, it always depends on the brand or manufacturer.
For example, there is vinyl from Meister that has even received the Blue Angel certification.
So, there are both cheap versions and high-quality products available. This should be considered before making a purchase.
We are also currently looking for a suitable flooring option, but I still find around €30 per square meter (approximately $30 per square yard) quite expensive.
Perhaps some of you have good experiences with online purchases of vinyl?

I
italiano8329 Dec 2014 20:14A few days ago, I started installing vinyl flooring in my hobby room. This stuff smells terrible, so I stopped after the first row. Even two days later, the smell is still very strong. I paid 23 euros per square meter (about 2.15 square feet) and am considering whether I should return it. I bought a total of 32 square meters (about 344 square feet).
Does anyone have experience with how long this odor usually lasts in a room? Also, is it normal for this type of flooring to smell like this?
