Does anyone have experience with click vinyl or luxury vinyl flooring like Vinylan?
According to the description, this vinyl seems to combine the advantages of various floor coverings:
- comfortable to walk on due to the cork underlayer
- durable
- easy to install like laminate
- low maintenance
It’s not exactly cheap, though.
However, you can get vinyl flooring in tropical wood tones without contributing to deforestation.
Does anyone have experience with click vinyl and can possibly share any drawbacks?

So, we have now also decided to install a click vinyl floor in our new build. Unfortunately, I can’t provide any personal experience with it yet, but we chose this flooring because of its durability and resistance to wear (even in the bathroom). And of course, click vinyl is easy to lay, so we will install it ourselves.

Larson80010 Sep 2012 08:24We installed this flooring in our living and dining area (about 80 m² (860 sq ft)). Installing it was very easy. It was the first time in my life that I did something like this, and it worked perfectly. We even laid it diagonally. Just use a utility knife to cut it, lay the flooring down, gently tap it with a rubber mallet, and you're done. The material is definitely practical for everyday use. It’s very durable. You don’t need to mop it with just a damp cloth, and if guests keep their shoes on, there’s no need to worry about scratches appearing immediately.
We would choose this material again any time.
