Hello.

During a renovation, there is currently an opportunity to organize the existing cable mess.

Several network cables, telephone cables, and a coaxial cable come from the basement directly into the router upstairs. Behind the router, there has been complete cable chaos so far.

The cables are now intended to be routed through flush-mounted boxes and then neatly connected to the router using very short cables.

Basically, one would need boxes that extend the existing cables. Are such boxes available, or what is the best way to proceed?

Thank you.

There are already holes for flush-mounted boxes, if I’m seeing that correctly?

So you can simply insert the hollow wall box and install the outlet. The cables appear to be long enough.

Get suitable boxes and install them neatly in the wall. Then you can connect everything to your floor heating.

OK. The flush-mounted box is clear, but which socket with a connector should be installed? Is there one where I can plug the network cable in from the inside and then reconnect another one from the outside?

Well, for that you could use a cable outlet box, but there probably won’t be enough space inside the box for the cables. I would cut the cable to length and install an RJ45 wall socket.

OK. So for the 4 network cables with 2 outlets, I would need 2x RJ45 8/8(8), right?

Basically, you only need 4 of the 8 wires per cable, so RJ45 8/8(4). Which option is usually chosen?
