Hello everyone,

I want to create a workshop space inside an old agricultural barn.
The workshop will be about 4 m x 8 m (13 ft x 26 ft) with a ceiling height of 3 m (10 ft).
I recently poured the concrete slab and now I need to build the partition wall separating the workshop from the rest of the barn.
Basically, I plan to build the partition wall with OSB panels and insulate the space between so that I can also heat the room.

Since I have little experience in this area, I’m hoping for your advice.
Are 15 mm (0.6 inches) OSB3 panels sufficient if they are installed on both sides?
What type of insulation and timber size would you recommend?
What spacing between the studs is usually used with these panels?

Thank you in advance and best regards,
Tom

OSB boards are available in 62.5cm (25 inches), 125cm (49 inches), and 250cm (98 inches).
From this, a typical joist spacing of 62.5cm (25 inches) follows.
Insulation mats come in 62.5cm (25 inches), while wood fiber insulation is available in 57.5cm (23 inches).
This results in a joist width of 6cm (2.4 inches) since the insulation mat can be compressed to fit.
The depth of the joists depends on the specific structural requirements.
