Hello,
I thought I’d ask the experts 🙂
I have a half-height Billy shelf in my living room combined with Benno shelves. Since the Billy is deeper than the Benno, it doesn’t sit flush against the wall and there’s a gap.
How have you combined Benno and Billy shelves so that it looks decent?
(because if I place both against the wall, the front isn’t even)
Is there perhaps a glass panel that can be placed on top of the shelves to hide the difference?
..Thanks in advance for your experiences

Because the shelf would then basically have two "tops." Would it be possible to cut just the piece that's missing at the back of the shelf from a white board and then attach it from underneath? If you know what I mean 😕
..thank you very much for your responses, so kind 😀
I went to IKEA at short notice today and asked a consultant for help. He said that the shelves shouldn’t really be combined at this height and that I could just buy a countertop. He added that I would have to have it cut to size at a hardware store. Hmm, I didn’t find that answer very convincing.
So I went to the clearance section and had a look there.
The side panels of a tall Billy shelf are 35cm deep (14 inches), which would then stick out by 7cm (3 inches).
I then bought glass doors for 3 EUR each (green glass with an aluminum frame) from a kitchen series. They are each 80cm long (31.5 inches) and 29cm deep (11.5 inches). So they fit perfectly and also look good from the side.
Problem solved, but many thanks to you all anyway.
