Hello,

we are currently planning our bathroom. Unfortunately, we are unsure where to place the heated towel rail and whether the general layout is practical. We initially planned the partition wall by the toilet for the heated towel rail, but this can be removed if another suitable location is found. I hope you can offer us some support. The shower is intended to be tiled. However, I couldn’t find this option in the Villeroy & Boch planner.

Hello,
I would definitely swap the bathtub with the washbasin and cabinet. That way, you will always have some natural light there. Install a towel radiator above the bathtub.
I would also omit the partition wall to the toilet.
For your shower, you should definitely plan for a door. Otherwise, the entrance area of the bathroom, including the room door, will constantly get wet. With some bad luck, the bottom of the door might even swell.

The door and frame will definitely be exposed to direct water impact. At the moment, I am not satisfied with the arrangement. I would also omit the privacy screen.

OK, then we will already include a glass door for the shower in the plan. Maybe someone can post another design for the built-in fixtures here? The wall at the shower can still be changed. But I think it is necessary for the length of the shower and for the radiator?

Yes, you definitely should.

I think the description above is clear enough. I believe you can adapt it yourself to fit your preferences. You’ve already found a bathroom planner anyway.

The wall isn’t absolutely necessary. You can have a shower with a glass door as small as 80×80cm (32×32 inches) or even smaller. Whether you want to plan it that way is another matter. A shower of 100×100cm (39×39 inches) is quite reasonable.

…and what about the radiator?

Why bring up the radiator now? There are towel radiators that aren’t 160cm (63 inches) tall. If needed, I would position a shorter but wider towel radiator above the bathtub.

Oh, the radiator should then be placed on the side near the bathtub. I missed that. The house offer includes a 60x180 cm (24x71 inches) radiator. We would then need to check what additional cost it would incur to choose a different one.

One more question about the lighting. Would it be sufficient to install a light in front of the shower, or is it better to have it directly above the shower? The ceiling will not be lowered, otherwise recessed lights wouldn’t be a problem.

Yes, exactly.

That depends a) on the type of light, b) on your partition, and c) on the exact positioning. We have two spotlights (one should also be enough for you) directly above the shower and are happy with that.

Spotlights can also be installed in a concrete ceiling. This should be planned in advance and an appropriate fixture box should be provided.
