We are planning to start building our single-family house in spring. Due to the slight slope of the site, the house will have a partly exposed basement. To minimize the residual risk of moisture penetration, I am considering constructing a waterproof concrete basement ("white tank") regardless of the soil analysis. What do you think? Are the additional costs compared to a bituminous-coated basement ("black tank") so high that it is worth recalculating? I just don’t want to regret it later if moisture does enter with a black tank...

What does the geologist say?

That depends partly on the size of the basement and partly on the type of sealing used. So no one except your structural engineer can give you an estimate.
