I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place for my question. If not, please feel free to move it;)
Since most of my home renovation has been finished for a few months now, I’m planning to focus on my leaking balcony. Moisture has penetrated from above and caused the paint on the underside to peel. I want to freshen up the balcony and then have a friend who is a craftsman install a new railing from the outside. The balcony is about 7000 x 1200 mm (275 x 47 inches), with roughly 800 mm (31 inches) of the 1200 mm (47 inches) area covered.
My research so far has shown the following steps:
1. Remove the old flooring (tiles) including the screed
2. Inspect the concrete and repair damaged areas
3. Create a slope
4. Apply waterproofing
Is there anything important I’m missing here? Steps 1, 2, and 4 seem doable for me. I’m just unsure about how to properly create a slope of 1.5–2%. Could someone please give me some suggestions on how to achieve this?
Thanks in advance!
