We purchased an Alnokitchen from a furniture store back in spring 2017. Unfortunately, the house construction has been delayed, so the kitchen can only be installed next summer. We are staying calm for now, despite Alno’s insolvency, since the contract is with the furniture store. However, as I don’t have much knowledge about the manufacturers, I’m unsure what alternative options might be available or advisable. What would be a comparable competitor? I’ve heard something about Nolte...? Does anyone have any tips? I want to be able to assess that I’m not being offered an inferior provider.

Suitable options would be Häcker, Schüller, etc., especially if you chose the 78 cm (31 inches) high carcasses for the base cabinets from Alno.

Just ask at the kitchen showroom...

As a former alno customer, I now have a Ballerina kitchen. Very satisfied. This was also due to the salesperson, the furniture store, and the installers.

What is your opinion of Nolte?
@kbt09: Does it really matter if the cabinet height is 78 or 75? Different manufacturers all offer comparable cabinet heights. A few centimeters (inches) difference shouldn’t make much difference, right?

Only, Nolte divides the 75 cm (29.5 inches) cabinet height into 5 increments – 15, 30, and 45 cm (6, 12, and 18 inches) tall drawers and pull-outs. Often, this is too tall, and such drawer heights are not needed.

Manufacturers with a 78 cm (30.7 inches) cabinet height divide it into 6 increments, allowing, for example, two 13 cm (5 inches) tall drawers and two 26 cm (10 inches) tall pull-outs in a base cabinet. This provides one more level and reduces the need for stacking.
