Hello,

I have a question for you.

We want to set up a Biohort garden shed where all the gardening tools and bicycles will be stored.

My question is, is it worth installing electricity in the shed, for example to have a light on the ceiling or one or two power outlets to charge batteries?

The question is also how often do you go to the garden shed when it’s dark; probably not very often.

Thank you, yes, I believe having electricity in the equipment shed would really make sense as it offers many advantages.

We are planning to get the Biohort Avantgarde.
How would you recommend preparing the foundation for the garden shed?

Should we simply install concrete slabs across the full width of the shed and then screw the garden shed onto them?

I also had electricity installed in the garden shed, with a switch and an outlet inside. Additionally, there are a few outlets outside for things like Christmas lights or similar.

It really depends on what we are talking about. If it is just a storage place, it is less necessary. A tool shed is different from a garden house, in my understanding. For the Biohort, I would probably leave it as is.

In my definition, a garden shed is basically a better storage shed. It holds everything: shelves, gardening tools, winter tires, garden chairs, and so on.

Definitely install electricity if the effort is reasonable!
We attached our Biohorts to a paved surface using the Biohort foundation frame (which is an accessory), without any additional floor.

Definitely install electrical wiring as well if you’re already working on it and it’s not a huge effort. We have a beverage cooler in our garden tool shed during summer for BBQ evenings. The bike that sometimes has to be stored inside at night (even without an electric motor) benefits from having lighting to avoid fumbling around, and having access to power and lighting for anything in the evenings during summer is always useful. Speakers, air compressors for various tasks, chargers for garden equipment, and so on…

If the option is available, most would probably take advantage of it, even if they might not miss it if they didn’t have it. Options always provide convenience, and it’s even better when the effort to implement them during the construction phase is relatively simple!
