You don’t have to eat in the dark just to save electricity. It’s enough to make sure that appliances are not running empty. For example, the washing machine and dryer should only be operated when fully loaded. The dishwasher should also only be started when it is completely filled.
I just thought of another way to save electricity. There are devices that you connect to the power source, which measure the energy consumption of household appliances. This way, you can quickly identify power hogs and replace them. It can save a lot of money; you wouldn’t believe how much electricity some devices use.
I recently replaced all my light bulbs with LEDs. With these bulbs, or plugs, you can save a significant amount of electricity. They are just a bit more expensive to buy, and the light might take some getting used to since it has a bluish, cool tone. However, I still highly recommend them. 😉

Gutbert-125 Nov 2008 07:11Hello,
I have installed lights with motion sensors in my basement because people often forget to turn off the lights there. Now, when walking through the basement, the lights turn off automatically about half a minute after you pass.
