Hello,
I am currently working on the electrical planning for our new build. To be honest, I have never dealt with these matters before, so I would really appreciate your opinions on the placement and number of power outlets, as well as any comments on what might be missing or unclear in the drawing.

Thank you very much!

I believe that one or at most two LAN outlets per floor are enough to ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection. If you don’t have special network requirements and aren’t doing time-critical tasks, Wi-Fi alone should be sufficient. It wouldn’t work for me. All my stationary devices are connected via LAN, which eases the load on my Wi-Fi. Usually, the performance of high-speed internet connections can’t be fully utilized over Wi-Fi anyway. Often, even a single wall is enough to severely limit fast data transmission.

All my devices that are stationary are connected via LAN, which takes the load off my Wi-Fi. Generally, the performance of high-speed internet connections can’t be fully utilized over Wi-Fi. Even a single wall can often be the death sentence for fast data transfer. That’s exactly the point: For many people, even today, a reasonably reliable Wi-Fi connection is enough.
Personally, I also prefer wired connections where possible and have higher demands. But when I look around, many friends and acquaintances are actually quite undemanding. As long as there’s Wi-Fi everywhere, they don’t really care much about throughput. Instagram just needs to work okay, and Spotify should run without interruptions – everything else is not important.

Frequent frozen video conferences were often the result. After that, some surface-mounted cables were installed.

Personally, I also prefer wired connections whenever possible and have corresponding expectations. But when I look around, many friends and acquaintances are actually quite undemanding. As long as there is Wi-Fi everywhere, the exact throughput doesn’t really matter. Instagram needs to work reasonably well, and Spotify should play without interruptions – everything else is totally irrelevant.I would not call that undemanding. It’s just a matter of different priorities. For example, I no longer want to have stationary devices; I want to use a laptop (and/or tablet) that lets me sit anywhere and surf the internet immediately, whether outdoors or indoors. Likewise, I want to be able to print instantly from wherever I am.
