ᐅ Grass protection for outdoor table tennis areas

Hello, we have a table tennis table and would like to play on the lawn. However, the grass suffers a lot if you play for a longer time. Are there any ways to protect the lawn? Would grass grids help, so that you don’t step directly on the grass all the time, or how have you solved this problem?

This is normal and unavoidable. Use the lawn, and it will be properly maintained at the end of the season or in the spring.

Then why have a lawn at all? The alternative would be a concrete slab and artificial turf.

Unfortunately, it’s an either-or decision. Grass pavers also look unappealing when the grid is constantly visible. Building a temporary wooden deck each time would of course be possible, but it seems rather labor-intensive.
Is there a driveway where the slab can be slid into?

Just keep positioning the board slightly differently each time.

If you remove the table tennis table, the lawn will look good again.

A driveway works too, but then I would have to park the cars elsewhere, which is also a bit inconvenient. Well, the grass pavers can also be laid down temporarily only when playing.
