Hello everyone!

We have purchased a triangular plot of land. As if that weren’t complicated enough, there is also a large oak tree that must be considered during the planning. In our initial considerations, it quickly became clear that the floor plan will have an L-shape.

Does anyone here have experience with this type of plot and a correspondingly shaped floor plan? What additional information is needed to get meaningful advice?

Best regards

We have a similar situation at our place right now. Temporary heating needs to be provided, and the screed must also be heated to reach the required surface temperature for covering installation. (At least that’s my understanding).

Now that the screed has been laid for two weeks, we’re wondering whether to speed up the drying process using a heater like a Heizboy or just let it air dry? Which is better? Is it true that the screed should at least be heated once with the underfloor heating? As with all questions, there are many different answers...
That would work, but usually the construction continues for several more days, so I wouldn’t spend money on that. The important thing is to get the moisture out of the house as much as possible. There are actually special heating programs designed for the specific floor covering.

Small update...

Interior drywall installation starts tomorrow, wall tiles on Thursday, and the heat pump will be installed soon as well.

Building under scaffolding with building materials and white van in front; surrounding trees.

I would appreciate seeing more photos, including some of the interior...

This reads better than any thriller. I just quickly skimmed through all 84 pages.
Great job on what has been achieved on the plot so far, considering the conditions and setbacks.
I would have practically ruled out the idea that the plot could turn into a sort of building diary that people follow over 2 years.
Keep it up, and more pictures, please!

P.S. I probably missed it while skimming, but what is your budget limit?

Now that we're moving on to the top coat of plaster, we thought about having the extension plastered/painted in gray.

What do you generally think about this idea?

And which shade of gray would work well? It shouldn’t be too light or too dark.

I know taste is always subjective, but a bit of inspiration can never hurt.
